Lake Lanier Striper Fishing

Posted by scottc on September 12th, 2011

Fishing on Lanier has been great on some days and slower on other days. We have been catching most of our Stripers on down lines. When we haven’t been able to find fish in deeper water they have been up shallower around points and humps in 50-70 feet of water. It has been hard to put together a consistent pattern; however, it seems as though the fish are where you mark them. Some days they are over the channel other days they are closer to timber on the points.

Spotted bass fishing is great and has saved many of our trips. Look for the spots to be in 20-30 feet of water around brush piles. They are hitting spooks, deep diving crank baits and live bait. We still have a couple of open dates in September. See you on the water.

Striper  fishing on Lake Lanier is great right now. The fish can be found in 120-75 feet of water around timber. Down lines have worked the best for us. Some of the schools of fish we have seen this week are huge. Power reeling seems to fire them up when they are lethargic.  Lead core is also working 5-7 colors. This week we have caught some bigger fish that usual. It’s a great time to be on the Lake. Fishing will be  good for the next couple of months. We still have a few open dates in August call 678-634-3408 for rates and availability. See you on the water.

Lake Lanier Striper Fishing

Fishing on Lanier has been really good this week. We are catching Stripers a couple different ways right. Herring on the down line has been good in the morning. When the sun gets high  and the fish move deeper trolling lead core 5-7 colors has been effective with 1 oz 1/2 buck tails.  Some days we’ll find fish deeper then other days we’ll find them up a little shallower around brush piles. Changing baits frequently helps get bites when times are slow. Mid-lake is the best place to find fish. We still have a couple of open dates on July. See you on the water.

Fishing on Lanier is good. The Stripers are still up on points in 45-70 feet of water sitting close to the timber. In the mornings we have  been catching some nice Spotted bass and a occasional Striper  on red fins, magic swimmers, and jerk baits. Down-lines fished close to timber are producing most of our bites. The Stripers have been finicky at times. Power reeling and the rip and pump techniques have been working to activate the fish. Action on the lake is picking up, and the fish should move into their summer time pattern soon. Main Lake points, humps, and coves are the best places to look for fish. North-end to Mid-lake are the best places to find fish. We still have a couple of open dates in June. See you on the water.

Striper fishing on Lanier has really picked up. We have been catching some Stripers up shallow around brush piles in the morning, with acouple of fish still visibly surfacing. These fish have been hitting red fins, magic swimmers, jerk baits, and flat lines. We have also been catching some bigger fish in the 60-90 foot depth range on down-lines. The best bite is just north of Browns Bridge. Fishing is getting more consistent, the fish are just now starting to get into the summer time pattern.  We still have a couple of open dates in June. See you on the water.

Fishing on Allatoona is good. Stripers have been playing hide and seek in the morning. They are high in the water column relating to points, humps, and submerged structure.  When you find the fish hold on because they are biting. We have been catching Hybrids, Stripers, and Spotted Bass throwing small jerk-baits, and casting small plastics to schooling fish and doing well. The fish are where the bait is. Flat-lines and down-lines fished 20 feet below the boat as the sun gets high have also been productive. We have been catching some bigger fish this week.  There are a lot of fish up the river, there are a few fish mid-lake, and there are some fish down south. We still have a couple of open dates in May. Call 678-634-3408 for rates and availability or e-mail me at gettinluckyfishing@yahoo.com. See you on the water.

Fishing on Allatoona has been great every morning. We are catching a mixed bag of Hybrids, Stripers, white bass, and spotted bass. The best bite has been on Flat lines every morning, once the sun gets high switch  to down lines as the fish have been dropping deeper in the water column. We have also been doing well casting jigs and jerk baits at schooling hybrids.  The best fishing is still yet to come in the next couple of weeks. Last week produced some really big Striper’s. Fishing is great Mid-Lake and is where we are spending most of our time. Crappie trips are available also available. There are a couple of open dates in April. Fishing on Allatoona is great. We have been catching hybrids and Stripers on flat-lines early then on down-lines after 10. Hybrids can also be caught casting small jigs and jerk baits against banks in the backs of creeks. It’s a great time of year to be on Allatoona. The best bite right now is mid-lake. Spotted bass are just now starting to move up, shallower and becoming more active. We have been catching many crappie when we have been targeting them. This years spawn is about to take place. We still have a couple open dates in  April, call 678-634-3408 for availability. See you on the water.

Some days the fish have been towards the backs of the creeks staging up shallow along secondary points  hammering shad, and other days they are coming up over deeper water. Fishing will just get better as spring gets closer. Call 678-634-3408 for booking information or e-mail me at gettinluckyfishing@yahoo.com. We still have a few open dates in March.
