The Stripers were in a feeding frenzy 30 feet below the boat and continue to crush live bait on the down line. These schools of stripers are still huge, and when you find one hold on. All four of our down lines were nailed at the same time at one point yesterday, good problems to have. It’s a great time of year for catching numbers. I’m only expecting the bite to improve with in the next couple of weeks.  We also caught two Stripers on top water and three Spotted Bass on top water that exceeded three pounds. The fish are beginning to move mid lake, look for signs of life and surface activity. Lake Lanier fishing continues to be on fire. I still have open dates in October, see you on the water.

The Striper bite is on fire right now. The fish are starting to move out of their summer pattern as the water temp cools. Fish have been hitting top water early, all over the south end of the lake. Down lines are still producing good catches at about 30-50 feet below the boat. Also, I’ve still been catching a few on umbrella rigs. Spotted Bass have been smashing top water as well. Focus on main lake humps and bush piles. Work a Fluke or a spook over these humps and brush piles, or simply look for breaking fish.  I’ll see you on the water.

The striper fishing has been fairly good. As the temperature cools, the fish have been pushing shad into the mouths of creeks and back into the creeks. On down lines the fish are being caught 30-40 feet below the boat. The lead core and umbrella rig bite is still hot. Start at mid lake and work your way down. I’m still pulling in good numbers but as the temperature cools down fishing should become more active.
