Striper fishing on Lake Lanier, has been very good on some days and very tough on others. Not much has changed with the pattern. Look in the back of certain creeks, and points. Both the North end and the South end are still producing fish. There is still a good casting bite when these fish are rolling. Fish flat lines early near drop offs for success in the morning. Herring, small shiners, and trout are still the ticket. The good news is when the fish start feeding, the fish we have put in the boat are big. Striper fishing will improve with the coming and going of March.

The Striper fishing has been slow, and bites are hard to come by. We have sat on huge schools of inactive Stripers 15-35 feet below the boat. However, the fish that are being caught are quality fish. Smaller baits are working well, alot of bites are coming off trout, and a few are coming off small herring. There are some fish scattered on the southend, and the same thing on the northend. Birds always make are a good indicator if anyone is home. Bass are still biting well 30-50 below the boat, and we’ve still been pulling out some monster Spots.
The crappie have started to bite well. Brush piles in the back of certain coves are holding fish. See you on the water.
