“Sitting here at my office trying to think about medicine and can’t stop my brain from wandering about the memory of the trip Wednesday. It was great! I will cherish it and once again I will commend you for being an excellent Captain and friend. I am planning my own trip soon and it is great to know that there are many types of healers in this world. Not just one’s with medical degrees. But ones with degrees of the Sea!”

Man I feel healed!

Lake Allatoona As Good As it Gets

The bite started out fair this morning. We caught a variety of Hybrids, small Stripers, Spotted Bass and White Bass. However, when  8:30 this morning hit the bite really heated up. It looked like the surface of the lake was boiling.   The Hybrids and Stripers were in a feeding frenzy; crushing thread fin shad at the surface.  A shad imitation jig is effective at this time, but multiple double hookups on our flat lines limited our ability to catch these fish casting. Some of our biggest fish today did come off jigs.

It was a workout keeping our flat lines baited. We lost count of the number of hybrids we boated today as we went through at least 7 dozen baits by 10:00 am. Fishing doesn’t get much better than today, and fishing has been consistent the last couple of weeks. Typically the hybrids run 2-10 pounds and offer fast action for anglers of all skill levels to enjoy.  If your interested in a fishing trip on Lake Lanier or Allatoona there are still a few available trips in March leading into April, feel free to call 678-634-3408.  The top-water bite on Lanier is just around the corner.

The fish have moved out of the creeks and have stacked up in the  main river  channel. We loaded up the boat today with an assortment of Hybrids, small Stripers, and White bass. Fish were running smaller today, but the number of fish we caught made up for that.  Most of our fish came off flat lines and small shad imitation jigs. The fish are on Main Lake points and river channel bends. Fishing doesn’t get much better than this. I still have open dates in March. Don’t miss out on the fast action on Allatoona.

Allatoona Great Hybrid and Striper Fishing

Posted by scottc on March 1st, 2009

The fish on Allatoona are biting extremely well right now. Stripers, and Hybrids are crushing thread fin shad in the backs of certain coves. There has been a great top water bite. It doesn’t get much better than this. I’m a very mobile out fit and take trips out on Lanier, Allatoona , and Blue Ridge. If your interested in getting on some of these hybrids, and Striped bass I still have openings in March.
