Double Hook Up

With more stable conditions the last few days the Down line bite on Lanier is on fire. Striperscan be found along deep banks, main lake points, and humps. These fish are tightly schooled, and laying low around the edges of tree lines. Best fishing continues to be the Mid-Lake area. We’re marking Stripers suspended 25-50  feet below the boat. Drop down on these fish and hold on because the big ones are heading strait for standing timber. Summer time is here and is the best time of year to catch good numbers of Stripers on Lake Lanier. Spotted bass continue to hit top water early in the morning, and move to brush piles mid-day. See You on the water.

Good Striper Fishing On Lanier

Posted by scottc on June 14th, 2009

With the water temp rising the Stripers have finally moved a little deeper making them easier to catch. Mid-Lake and North seems to be the best bite, although there probably a few fish down south as well. There is still a chance to get one on top water early but the chances of that happening are getting smaller every day with the water temp warming up. Fish live herring off humps and points. The Stripers are starting to respond better to down lines than weeks past. Its always a good idea to keep at least one flat-line out the back. There is a decent trolling bite that will improve with the coming weeks.

Spotted Bass are nailing shad over top brush piles all over the lake. Look for bait skipping across the surface and bass right underneath. Spots have been hitting swim baits, jerkbaits, and spooks this week.  Bass action continues to be great.  See you on the water 678-634-3408.
