Lake Lanier Striper Fishing
Posted by scottc on August 19th, 2010Striper fishing has been very consistent. We’re not seeing huge numbers of fish, but we have been catching a few quality fish every trip. The Stripers are down 30-50 feet in 90-120 feet of water relating to tree lines. All mid-lake to south-end creeks are holding fish. We rely heavily on our Lowrance electronics this time of year for marking deep schools of bait, thermoclines, and tree lines. The fish are finally start to school up in tight, active groups. Down lines have been our biggest producer this week. Trolling the edge of the river channels with lead core fished 7 to 9 colors will also catch fish. Stripers have been sporadically feeding through out the day. Fishing has been good and should only get better into September. See you on the water.
